Funny Cartoon Of The Day
As usual, a simple cartoon reveals the cold hard truth. Republicans say they are for de-regulation, but only for big corporations. This is why libertarians are way better than republicans, though many people confuse the two. Let's do a quick definition. Libertarian: fiscal conservative, social liberal. Republican: fiscal conservative (at least they are supposed to be, but "borrow and spend seems to be the name of the game", social CONservative.
A quick example. A real libertarian would fight for civil liberties and would actually be more left than democrats who think marriage should be "between a man and a woman." Sorry folks, "marriage" should be between the people and their church. Therefore, constitutionally, we have no right to say what a church can and cannot do. Therefore, if a church recognizes a marriage between two consenting adults of the same gender, the government has no choice but to recognize it. Therefore, constitutional bans on gay marriage are hereby deemed unconstitutional. So thanks, religion, for loosening arbitrary restrictions on our people.
Then again, a libertarian has faith in the people of this country to do the right thing, to not steal, not be evil, and as such, wishes to abolish most corporate regulation. Eh. I agree on paper. But paper is not practice, as the last 8 years have taught us. And these corporations need some regulation to keep them from blowing themselves up.
